Wells "The Time Machine", followed by Arthur C. Clarke's "Childhood's End". R. Gabe explains and proceeds to recommend that Michael read "A Wrinkle In Time" by Madeleine L'Engle. Naturally, everyone should read the original "Planet of the Apes". And much, much MORE!
